How can therapy help?
The primary goal of therapeutic counseling is to alleviate your emotional pain by helping you navigate and process complex feelings, thereby easing the challenges of daily life. Think of it as an investment in mental well-being, a commitment to personal growth, and an act of self-care and self-compassion.
Counseling provides you with practical tools, strategies, and a confidential space to unpack your thoughts, gain insights, and acquire effective coping skills.
With the guidance of a licensed therapist, you're equipped to address life's hurdles more proficiently. If the journey of healing and self-discovery interests you, please reach out. I'm here to answer any questions, or set up a complimentary initial consultation
What are your office hours?
We work by appointment only, and I do not accept “walk-ins” at this time. We are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Our office hours are flexible and include early morning, daytime, and evening hours.
Are you available after hours?
Contact us and we will accommodate you with reasonable after-hours and weekend scheduling options.
What is your
cancellation policy?
Please reschedule or cancel your session at least 24 hours before your appointment.
You will be charged a full session fee if your session is canceled within 24 hours.
Do you accept insurance?
I am on board with several insurance panels (please see the list below). If you don’t see your insurance provider below, I will be happy to send you a superbill so you can potentially receive partial or full reimbursement from your insurance.
Talking to your insurance representative before your first session is always good. Please call the number on the back of your card to determine your deductible and how many sessions you are allowed. We can always talk this through if you have any questions.
Is my therapy really confidential?
Anything you say in sessions or during phone calls, your records, and even your attendance are confidential. Confidentiality is essential to therapy. Besides professional expertise, counseling works because it is a SAFE place to talk about anything.
Please note that there are a couple of exceptions:
When you give your therapist written permission by signing a Permission to Release Information.
When your records are subpoenaed by a court order.
When a therapist is obligated to make a report by law. (Examples: extreme danger to self or others, a child, an elder, or vulnerable adult abuse or neglect.)
What is e-therapy, teletherapy, online, virtual, digital, or distance therapy?
Telehealth includes various methods, including virtual or phone sessions, text messages, communication via e-mail, or other electronic means. Online therapy feels different than in-person sessions; however, the science shows that it can be equally effective.
Our clients appreciate the convenience and flexibility of scheduling telehealth sessions and benefit from therapy in the comfort of their own homes.
If you are experiencing a severe mental health crisis or suicidal ideation, online therapy is not an appropriate option. Instead, please contact 911 or visit your local emergency room for immediate assistance. Hotlines: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline:
